Greensville County's Sanitary Landfill is located about 4 miles west of Emporia north of U.S. Route 58 on Maclins Creek Road.
All landfill users are billed monthly by mail.
No cash is accepted at the landfill.
Effective July 1, 2015
Greensville County's Landfill accepts waste only from the County and City of Emporia unless so directed by the Board of Supervisors.
Greensville County residents can dispose of household waste at no cost. As directed by City of Emporia policy, Emporia residents will be charged as per the below fee schedule for all waste they dispose of at the landfill.

|Industrial waste, municipal waste, and commercial waste deposited into the landfill:||$48.00 per ton|
|Household and residential waste that was generated within Greensville County and disposed of by Greensville County residents:||No charge to county residents|
|Clean, burnable wood products such as brush, limbs, stumps, land-clearing debris, and wood products that are free of municipal solid waste, metal, rock, brick, paint, and other inert debris:||$10.00 per ton (No charge to county residents)|
|Ash:||$48.00 per ton|
|Inert debris, such clean dirt, rock, brick, broken concrete (no longer than 1 square foot) and other such material that is free of municipal solid waste, metal, and wood:||No charge if disposed of in the "rock" pile pending approval of Landfill Supervisor|
|All metal items such as washing machines, water heaters, along with ferrous and non-ferrous metal products, provided the metal items are not mixed with municipal solid waste, wood, paper, rock, brick, dirt, and other debris:||No charge if disposed of in the "metal pile"|
|Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and other refrigeration equipment containing ozone-depleting compounds such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC's) are billed as per the following:|
|Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners disposed of by County of Greensville residents:||No charge to county residents|
|Refrigerators and freezers disposed of by City of Emporia residents:||$10 each|
|Air conditioners disposed of by City of Emporia residents:||$12 each|
|Refrigerators and freezers disposed of by commercial businesses that are not certified by a certified technician as being free of Freon:||$12 each|
|Air conditioners disposed of by commercial businesses that are not certified by a certified technician as being free of Freon:||$12 each|
|Refrigerators and freezers disposed of by commercial businesses that are certified by a certified technician as being free of Freon:||$10 each|
|Tires brought to the Landfill are charged at the following rates:||$100.00 per ton|
