The Board of Zoning Appeals hears and decides applications for exceptions to and variances from the Greensville County Zoning Ordinances. The Board must find that a difficulty or unnecessary hardship exist as a result of the literal application of the ordinance because of some peculiarity of the property in question as distinct from the other properties in the same district. The granting of the exception or variance must not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to the property in the immediate surrounding area, and must be in keeping with the general purpose, intent and objective of the Greensville County Zoning Ordinances. There are five members of the Board of Zoning Appeals. They are appointed by the Circuit Court.
Meetings are held in the Board Room of the Greensville County Government Building on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. as called.
