Greensville County Fire Department proudly protects 20,000 people living in an area of 302 square miles. It operates out of one fire station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

The Greensville County Fire Department proudly located in Virginia serves the citizens of the County of Greensville and City of Emporia. 

The Department was chartered in 1935. The department also has had a successful Cadet firefighter program since 1985.  The Cadet program has given youth from 15 to 18 years of age the chance to work and train to become firemen.  The cadet program is averaging about five to six cadets each year.

The majority of our firefighters possess Firefighter I and above within the first two years of service.  The department also requires you to have an annual physical and you must pass the physical
